West Burlington, IA- Authorities have identified the person killed in a shooting in West Burlington.
According to a news release, the victim has been identified as 18-year-old Owen Laird of Burlington.
At about 3:14 PM Sunday, November 14th, 2021, West Burlington Police were called to Pat Klein Park, 631 Swan Street for a report of shots fired. Once on scene, officers discovered Laird who had been shot.
Laird was taken to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have taken a juvenile related to the case into custody.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
