Springfield, Ill.-  Stays on over 180 cannabis dispensary licenses in Illinois have been lifted.

TV Station WICS reports that an Illinois state court ruled stays on the 185 dispensary licenses to applicants selected in the three lotteries in 2021.

The stays were part of a federal case involving concerns about the residency requirements for dispensary owners.

The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is working to improve the lottery process to make sure it is fair to all applicants.
