Wever, IA- Alliant Energy is planning to build an 870-acre, 150 Megawatt solar field near Wever.
The Hawk Eye reports that the proposed project, which will include a 75-megawatt battery energy storage system, will be located south of the Skunk river, and North of the Iowa Fertilizer Co.
24 property owners will be impacted by the project, but all the land for the project has already been leased through voluntary agreements.
A public information meeting discussing the project will be held at 6 PM Tuesday at the Cobblestone Inn and Suites, 4901 Ave. O in Fort Madison.
