Keokuk, IA- With more Ukrainian refugees coming to the US due to the war with Russia, members of the Community in Keokuk are coming together to help them find a home.
In April 2022, President Biden announced Uniting for Ukraine, which allows citizens to sponsor Ukrainians who wish to come to the US.
TV Station WGEM reports that the Keokuk Refugee Coalition was formed in August by a group of locals seeking to help Ukrainian families displaced by the war.
The group currently has two homeowners renting out space to Ukrainian families, but they still need things like food, transportation, and donations for the families once they arrive.
