Hamilton, Illinois woman arrested following traffic stop

Hamilton, Ill.-  The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Hamilton, Illinois woman for possession of methamphetamine following a traffic stop.

According to a news release, on Monday, February 13th, at about 12:05 AM, a Hancock County Deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle at Buchanan and Washington Street in Carthage.

The driver, 32-year-old Brooke Leffler of Hamilton, was found to be in possession of fewer than five grams of methamphetamine.

A sheriff’s office K9 had alerted on the vehicle, and a subsequent search of the vehicle yielded two grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in Leffler’s purse.
