
Lee County, IA- Two people were killed in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday in Lee County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, at about 4:30 PM Wednesday, April 5th a vehicle driven by 73 year old Rose Marie Catherine Becker of Farmington stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of US 218 and County Road 103 (J40). At the same time, a semi-truck driven by Juan Julio Cavallini Ramirez of Red Oak, Texas was going northbound on 218.
Becker’s vehicle pulled out onto 218 headed west, and Ramirez struck the driver’s side of Becker’s vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest in the median facing northwest on US 218.
A passenger in Becker’s vehicle, 75 year old Ross Wayne Becker of Farmington was ejected from the vehicle.
Both Ross Becker and Rose Becker died as a result of the accident. According to the Iowa State Patrol, neither were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Ramirez was not injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
