Henderson County Sheriff’s Office announces distracted driving enforcement results

Oquawka, Ill.-  The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office has announced the results of a distracted driving enforcement campaign.

According to a news release, the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office issued 3 citations for hands-free law violations and 11 speeding citations, 1 no insurance citation, 1 failure to signal citation, and 1 driving suspended citation during April’s Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement campaign.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement, and highway safety partners for this enforcement effort.

The Illinois distracted driving campaign was funded with federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
