29-year-old Dontrell J. McMiller of Dolton Illinois (above) was also arrested on an Illinois warrant for homicide.

According to a news release, detectives investigating the most recent shots fired call reviewed surveillance video provided by a resident who lived near the area of the 200-block of South 8th.

Detectives were able to locate the man, later identified as McMiller, who was recorded on the video shooting the gun.  McMiller gave a false name to police and was arrested for the shots fired incident.

After detectives learned McMiller’s true identity, they learned he was wanted for a 2018 homicide that occurred in Dolton, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago.

McMiller was charged with the Illinois warrant for homicide, possession of a firearm by a felon, discharging a firearm in city limits, and providing false identification information to law enforcement.
