
Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Burlington woman on multiple drug-related charges.
According to a news release, at about 1 AM Monday, June 12th, deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near the intersection of Sunnyside Ave. and Melvin Ave.
During the stop, deputies observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle advised deputies there was also a second open container of alcohol inside a backpack in the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located containers of alcohol, drug paraphernalia, and several controlled substances. Deputies identified a passenger in the vehicle as 39-year-old April Dawn Howard of Burlington.
Howard was in possession of LSD and drug paraphernalia. Howard was arrested for possession of a controlled substance 3rd offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. Howard was also arrested on a warrant out of Lee County.
