Burlington, IA-  The Burlington Bees game scheduled for Tuesday afternoon was postponed due to poor air quality.

According to a news release, Bees General Manager Tad Lowry announced that poor air quality, caused by Canadian wildfires led to the postponement of Tuesday’s matchup against the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes.

Bees players and coaches had breathing difficulties during early afternoon workouts.  Out of concern for player safety the Bees, in consultation with league commissioner David Brauer, determined the air quality was too poor for the game to go on.

Iowa high school sports were also canceled on Tuesday.

The Burlington-Springfield game will be made up as a part of a doubleheader on Thursday, June 29th, with the first game beginning at 5:30 PM.
