Wapello, IA- The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office has announced a new addition to its fleet of vehicles.
According to a news release, in early 2023, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office applied for a grant through the Washington County Riverboat Foundation for a search and rescue UTV to assist in a variety of calls in the county.

In May, the Sheriff’s Office won the grant and was awarded $10,000 towards the purchase of a 2023 Polaris Ranger UTV (above), with the rest funded by the Louisa County Reserve Deputies fund.
The Sheriff’s Office says that the UTV will also be used for major events, and be equipped with first aid kits, AED, and other emergency equipment.
