Burlington, IA- A Burlington man accused of sexually abusing a family member has pleaded guilty.
The Hawk Eye reports that 52-year-old Robert Hicke was arrested on April 5th, and charged with third-degree sexual abuse and incest after a report was filed, and Hicke admitted to sexually abusing a family member.
Hicke had initially pleaded not guilty to the charges on May 1st, and his trial was set to begin on Tuesday. But, on June 26th, Hicke submitted a guilty plea for the sexual abuse charge as part of a plea agreement. According to court records, the incest charge will be dropped.
Sentencing for Hicke has been scheduled for August 7th.
