Catherine Jean Anderson, 85, of Burlington, died Monday, August 21, 2023 at Bickford Cottage.
Born July 28, 1938 in Rosetta, Illinois, she was the daughter of Harry Edward and Florence Lillian (Goff) Alecock.
Jean graduated from Biggsville High School. On October 15, 1960 she married Eugene Richard Anderson at the Rosetta Baptist Church. He died October 18, 2020.
Jean was a production worker at General Electric for 34 years. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening and taking care of family and friends.
Survivors include one daughter Nancy (Amy Wesley) Anderson of Denver, Colorado; one son Eric Anderson of Burlington; four grandchildren Lauren (Kelton) Gourley of Burlington, Lucas Anderson of Iowa City, Logan Kelley and Lyndsey Kelley both of West Burlington; three sisters Betty Brown of Monmouth, Illinois, Maida Johnson of Biggsville and Sandy Cox of LaHarpe, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and five sisters.
The funeral service will be 2pm, Wednesday, August 23rd at Lunning Chapel with Dean Graber officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Per her wishes, cremation will be accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
A memorial has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.

Patricia Ann Falls journeyed home on July 30, 2023. 
She was born in Washington, Iowa on March 31, 1938 to Keith and Nina (Morgan) Keeler. 
Pat married Thomas R. Falls on May 17, 1958 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on
Nov 17, 2020. Pat grew up in Lone Tree Iowa and graduated in 1955. She participated in girls basketball,
cheerleading, and glee club. After graduating, she worked at the University of Iowa Hospital in the
pediatric burn unit.  Tom and Pat moved to Fort Madison, IA then to West Burlington, IA where they
resided until Tom’s retirement from the Iowa State Patrol. While in West Burlington, Pat was vice
president of PTA, nominated for Outstanding Women, involved in the booster club, co leader of Girl
Scouts, and volunteered at St. Timothy’s Catholic School.  She went door to door getting signatures for
the West Burlington swimming pool in our town. She diligently campaigned for Senator Jim Leach and
Governor Robert Ray. She was always volunteering to make things better in the community.
Pat worked at Burlington Medical Center in admitting until her move to AZ. In Arizona she worked for
Desert Samaritan Hospital in Mesa, AZ until her retirement. Pat had friends from all walks of life, always
ready for travel with her coworkers, going to concerts and Colorado adventures. While living in West
Burlington she befriended a wonderful archeologist couple that asked Pat to deliver a dinosaur bone to
the University of Colorado. She loved helping her friend and jumped at the chance to visit her favorite
place, Colorado. Pat loved a great card game (very competitive), watching collegiate or professional
basketball (boys), traveling, music, luncheons and attending all of her grandchildren’s activities over the
years. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Burlington and St. Timothy’s in Mesa, AZ.
 
Pat is survived by her sister, Jeannie Frank of Riverside, IA; sister-in-law, Nancy Pagnucco of Stillwater,
MN, and Eileen Falls of Iowa City, IA.
Her Children: Debbie of Chandler, AZ; Tim (Nina) of Chandler, AZ; Michael of Burlington, IA; Kerri of
Chandler, AZ and Patrick (Julia) of Chandler, AZ
Grandchildren: Matt Falls, Morgan (Andrew) Saba, Jacob Falls, Drew Falls, Tommie Falls, Anastasia Falls,
and Tatum Falls
Great grandchildren: Riley Falls, Benton Saba and Carter Saba as well as several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, in laws Burt and Nelle Falls, sister in law Janet White
Cramer, Iowa City, IA. and Faye Falls, Kenosha WI. Brother in laws Jerry White, Iowa City, IA, James
Frank Riverside, IA, Robert Falls, Hills, IA and George Pagnucco, Stillwater, MN.

Richard Lyle “Bear” Renshaw, 71, of Burlington, died Friday, August 18, 2023 at his home.
Born November 29, 1951 in Burlington, he was the son of Melvin Lyle “Bear” and Marybell (Seymour) Renshaw. He married Rita Lynn Rea June 30, 1972 at the Aldersgate Chapel in Burlington. He was of the Christian faith.
Richard worked for Champion Spark Plug for 15 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and guns. He was a woodworker and a family man.
Survivors include his wife Rita of Burlington; one son Ryan Renshaw; one daughter Renee Renshaw both of Burlington; one granddaughter Hallie Renshaw and one grandson Mason McAllister; one sister Debra Graham of Wapello.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Danny Renshaw, and several aunts and uncles.
Per his wishes, cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel. There will be no services at this time.

Irene Jeanette VanOsdol, 90, of Winfield, died Monday, August 14, 2023 at Sunrise Terrace, Winfield. She was born September 16, 1932 in Otley, Iowa to Elton and Grace Aalbers Cade. She married William Koger on January 25, 1951. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1987. She then married Dean VanOsdol on November 28, 1992. He died September 21, 2015.

She is survived by three daughters; Lana Strahn of North Liberty, Linda (Randy) Kongable of Winfield and Luann (Phil) Cecil of Knoxville, Illinois; one stepson, Randy (Shirley) VanOsdol of Belgrade, Montana; eleven grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law John Strahn and grandson Todd Prignitz.

According to her wishes her body has been cremated and a private family inurnment will be held at Aspen Grove Cemetery. Elliott Chapel, New London, is assisting the family with arrangements and online condolences may be left at www.elliottfuneralchapel.com.

Deloris Jackson, 72, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Danville, died Friday, August 18, 2023 at Savannah Heights in Mt. Pleasant.
Born January 6, 1951 in Creston, Iowa she was the daughter of Dean and Doris (Longfellow) Gillette. She was a member of Yarmouth Baptist Church.
Deloris graduated from West High School in Davenport, Iowa. She married Richard Jackson. They later divorced.
She was primarily a homemaker and also worked at Motorola. She retired from Community Bank in Wapello, Iowa.
Most important to Deloris were her children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Survivors include her children Kim Hauswirth of Danville, Jason (Lonetta) Jackson of Danville and Kristi (Levi) Palmer of Mediapolis; daughter-in-law Christy Jackson of Danville; grandchildren Baylee, Macy, Wyatt Jackson, Kylene Hauswirth, Kolton, Kody, Kelsey, Kaleb Jackson, Brantly and Tyler Palmer, Kenzie Langan and Ayden Doyle; great grandchildren Weston Jackson and Oakley Shoemaker; brothers Dale (Joanna) Gillette of Bettendorf, Jon Gillette of Davenport and Jamie (Tammy) Gillette of Maryville, Tennessee and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Troy Jackson.
The funeral service for Deloris will be 10:00 AM Friday August 25th at Lunning Chapel with Pastor Jeff Duffy officiating. Interment will follow in Long Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A memorial has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
