
Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Burlington man for felony eluding, and driving while barred.
According to a news release, at about 11:40 AM Tuesday, September 19th, Des Moines County Deputies attempted to stop a motorcycle in the 14000 block of US Highway 61.
The motorcycle did not have registration plates and the driver, 33-year-old Bradley Michael Haynes of Burlington, was known to have a barred driver’s license.
When deputies attempted to stop the motorcycle, it accelerated and eluded deputies north on Highway 61 at speeds greater than 100 miles per hour in the 65mph zone. Deputies terminated the pursuit at that time.
About 20 minutes later, deputies observed Haynes pull into the drive at his residence riding the same motorcycle that had eluded deputies.
Haynes was arrested and charged with driving while barred, operating a non-registered vehicle, and felony eluding.
