Burlington woman arrested on drug charges

Burlington, IA-  The Des Moines County Sheriff’s office has announced the arrest of a Burlington woman on drug-related charges.

According to a news release, at about 12:44 AM Friday, September 22nd, Des Moines County Deputies stopped a vehicle at US Highway 61 and Clubhouse Drive for a defective muffler.  During the stop, a consent search of the vehicle was conducted and deputies located about 6 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia belonging to the passenger in the vehicle.

The passenger, 42-year-old Nicole Marie Bowers was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.

She was transported to the Des Moines County Jail.  Before entering the jail, Bowers told deputies that was in possession of additional methamphetamine.

An additional bag of approximately 7 grams of methamphetamine was found on her person.
