Macomb, Ill.-  A Macomb man charged with murder in connection to a shooting at a house party has waived his right to a jury trial.

TV Station WGEM reports that 26-year-old Demond Wilson Jr., of Calumet Park, Illinois, was arrested after the shooting at a house party in the 500 block of North Johnson Street in Macomb that left one person dead and several others injured.

Wilson was charged with three counts of first-degree murder, four counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, and one count of aggravated battery.

The McDonough County State’s Attorney’s Office did not comment on the situation but did say that anything other than a jury trial, such as a plea deal or a bench trial, could happen.

A status hearing has been set for Wednesday, October 18th.
