Mount Pleasant Police Department: Two arrested on multiple charges

Mount Pleasant, IA-  The Mount Pleasant Police Department has announced the arrest of two individuals on multiple charges.

According to a news release, at about 6 AM Thursday, October 19th, Mount Pleasant Police began to receive calls about cars and property being entered and items stolen.  It was discovered that multiple items including firearms were taken from unlocked vehicles.

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at 211 East Monroe Street, Apartment 102 in Mount Pleasant.

22-year-old Daigen Ross of Mount Pleasant and a 17-year-old female were both taken into custody.  Two firearms were located, both of which were confirmed to be stolen, along with other items matching the other stolen property.

Ross was charged with 2nd Degree Burglary with a firearm, 2nd Degree Burglary, and three counts of 3rd Degree Burglary.

The juvenile female was later released to a family member and is being charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Equipment, Interference with Official Acts, and Criminal Mischief.
