
Galesburg, Ill.- Authorities have announced the arrests of multiple individuals in connection with an investigation into narcotic sales, gun trafficking, and violent crimes in Galesburg and the Knox County area.
According to a news release, the focus of the operation was to arrest individuals who distribute and possess narcotics, and/or illegally sell firearms in the area.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Quad City F.B.I Task Force, Monmouth Police, Galesburg Police, the U.S. Marshals, and the Illinois State Police teamed up to arrest 11 people in Knox County on multiple charges.
During the investigation, four stolen firearms were recovered, including an AR-15 with armor-piercing rounds. Also seized were various amounts of methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office anticipates making more arrests, due to information gathered during the investigation.
A search warrant was conducted at 453 East Losey Street. During the search, a female was located inside the residence who had overdosed. Agents deployed Narcan and called paramedics to treat the female. She was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital.
A search of the residence revealed large quantities of Methamphetamine and Cocaine.
