West Burlington Police announce arrest of man for Burglary

West Burlington, IA-  The West Burlington Police Department has announced the arrest of a man charged in the burglary of a local cell phone store.

According to a news release, on May 6th, 2023, the West Burlington Police Department responded to the Cricket Wireless Store, 411 West Agency Road for a report of a burglar alarm.

Officers found that the store had been burglarized and several thousand dollars’ worth of cell phones and US currency had been taken.

On May 26th, a search warrant was conducted at 38 Midtown Lane, where several items of evidence were seized.

On August 21st, West Burlington Police issued warrants for Diamonte Ladon Walls for 3rd Degree Burglary and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

On September 14th, Walls was arrested in DuPage County, Illinois,  following the robbery of a Verizon Wireless store. Walls was charged with one count of Armed Robbery with a Firearm and one count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Walls is currently being held at the Dupage County Jail and will be extradited back to Des Moines County at the conclusion of his Illinois cases.
