Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident in which one person suffered a gunshot wound.
According to a news release, at about 4:09 AM Tuesday, December 12th, Des Moines County Deputies were dispatched to 11903 DMC Hwy 99 in reference to an unknown individual who was inside the residence.
While deputies were enroute they were notified that a shot was fired and that someone had been shot.
Upon arrival deputies located a male with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office interviewed multiple people at the scene, and determined there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The incident remains under investigation.
