Davenport police investigating bomb threat

Davenport, IA-  The Davenport Police Department says that two area hospitals were placed on lockdown following a bomb threat.

According to a news release, at 6:41 AM Thursday, January 25th, the Scott County Emergency Communication Center received a report of a possible bomb threat to an unspecified hospital.

While the information was being investigated, Davenport Police worked with personnel from local hospitals to ensure their safety.

As a precautionary measure, Genesis East and West hospitals placed themselves on lockdown.

Through an investigation, it was determined there was no immediate danger to the hospitals.

The incident remains under investigation.  No further information was released.
