Burlington Notre Dame student arrested for shooting threats

Burlington, IA-  The Burlington Police Department has announced the arrest of a Burlington Notre Dame student for threatening to shoot up the school.

According to a news release, on Tuesday, February 13th, Burlington Police Officers responded to a call for service at Notre Dame High School, 702 South Roosevelt Ave., regarding threats.

During the investigation, it was learned that a student had threatened to shoot up the school.

On Wednesday, February 14th, there was an increased police presence at Notre Dame High School.  During this time the Criminal Investigation Division conducted multiple interviews.

Following the investigation, 18-year-old Lance Steinhoff of Danville, Iowa was arrested and charged with Threats of Terrorism.

Steinhoff is currently in custody at the Des Moines County Jail, pending a court appearance.
