Illinois man arrested in West Burlington on multiple charges

West Burlington, IA-  The West Burlington Police Department has announced the arrest of a Peoria, Illinois man on multiple charges.

According to a news release, at about 1:25 PM Wednesday, March 13th, West Burlington Police Officers responded to the Wal-Mart at 324 Agency Road in West Burlington for a report of a theft in progress.

Upon arrival, the suspect fled from the responding officer and was apprehended after a foot pursuit.

The suspect, Deyvon Mangwell King of Peoria, Illinois, was found to have active arrest warrants out of Bettendorf, Iowa, and was in possession of a loaded firearm, cocaine, and marijuana.

King had active arrest warrants out of Bettendorf, Iowa for Failure to Appear-2 counts of Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense Failure to Appear-Possession of a Controlled Substance

King was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance for Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance for Cocaine, Interference with Official Acts, and Theft in the 5th Degree.

The West Burlington Police Department was assisted by the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Taskforce and the Burlington Police Department.
