Burlington, IA-  The Burlington Community School District has announced that Alec Clark has been named as the next principal of Edward Stone Middle School.

According to a news release, Clark will take on the roll on July 1st, replacing the current principal of Edward Stone Nathan Marting, who will become the Principal of Burlington High School following the retirement of Monica Myers.

“We’re excited to have Alec back at Ed Stone and continue his instructional leadership in the Burlington Community School District,” Superintendent Robert Scott said. “He does a great job of building relationships with both staff and students.”

Clark first came to the district as an assistant principal at Ed Stone in 2020 and accepted an assistant principal position at BHS in 2021.  The following year he became the principal at North Hill Elementary.

Clark will remain at North Hill through the remainder of the school year.
