Wever, IA- OCI Nitrogen Iowa, Formerly the Iowa Fertilizer Company, for the second year in a row donated funds to eliminate all school lunch deficits in Lee County Public Schools.
According to a news release, the $20,000 donation reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to invest in students, local families, schools, and educational programs in Southeast Iowa.
To eliminate school lunch deficits, OCI Nitrogen Iowa made direct contributions to the Fort Madison and Central Lee Community School Districts, which collectively serve nearly 3,000 students.
Students at the Keokuk Community School District qualify for free lunch and as a result, there is not a current negative lunch balance in the district.
OCI Nitrogen Iowa and its more than 260 full-time team members have made a wide range of charitable donations to local school districts, academic programs, educational resources, and more across the region.
