Iowa Supreme Court rejects appeal from City of Davenport in collapse lawsuit

Davenport, IA-  The Iowa Supreme Court has ruled that the City of Davenport and some of its former and current employees will not receive qualified immunity in a lawsuit involving the collapse of an apartment building.

TV Station WQAD reports that, in a recent ruling the Iowa Supreme Court said that the City of Davenport, former chief building official Trishna Pradhan and director of development and neighborhood services Rich Oswald are not protected from prosecution under qualified immunity.

The court did not explain the reasoning for the ruling.
