Iowa State Patrol: 17 year old killed in Washington County after car hit by train

Ainsworth, IA-  The Iowa State Patrol says that a Washington, Iowa teen was killed early Monday when a car collided with a train.

According to a crash report, a vehicle, driven by 17-year-old Rowan Ross of Washington, was going Southbound on Spruce Avenue in Ainsworth at about 1:50 AM Monday.

The vehicle ran a stop sign over a railroad crossing, and collided with a westbound train before coming to rest in a ditch.

The ISP says the crash remains under investigation.
