Burlington Police Department: two people arrested for marijuana possession, child endangerment

Burlington, IA-  The Burlington Police Department says that two people have been arrested for marijuana possession and child endangerment.

According to a news release, at about 8:45 AM Tuesday, detectives from the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of local law enforcement, executed a search warrant at 109 South Woodlawn Avenue.

Two suspects, Deandre Newell and Tamika Hill were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana, and 3 counts of Child Endangerment.

The Burlington Police Department says this operation was part of a broader effort to dismantle drug trafficking operations in the region, and ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
