LeClaire, IA- The Davenport Police Department on Thursday, October 24th, recovered the body of a deceased woman from the Mississippi River.
According to a news release, at about 1:03 PM Thursday, the Scott Emergency Communications Center received the report of a body located in the river on the LeClaire Park riverfront.
Upon arrival, Davenport Police and Fire located the body of an adult female in the river.
The medical examiner investigator indicated the body appeared to have been in the river for an extended period of time.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine identity and cause of death.
The incident remains under investigation. No further information was released.
