President-elect Donald Trump’s lawsuit against the Des Moines Register has been transferred to federal court, following a request by Gannett, the newspaper’s parent company. Court documents cite the involvement of parties located in different states as the reason for the move.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in Polk County, also names pollster J. Ann Selzer and Selzer & Company. Trump claims the poll, published shortly before Election Day, falsely showed Vice President Kamala Harris leading in Iowa, alleging it was deceptive and constituted election interference. Trump went on to win Iowa by a significant margin.

The Des Moines Register has defended its decision to publish the poll, and Ann Selzer, a prominent polling figure, announced her retirement after the election.
