On December 21, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Burlington Police officers responded to a reported stabbing in the 2500 block of Mount Pleasant Street. The victim, who suffered a neck wound, told officers the suspect stabbed him during an argument over gas money.
The victim was treated at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries and later released. Detectives identified the suspect as Robert Britton, who was taken into custody and booked at the Des Moines County Jail. Britton faces charges of Attempted Murder (Class B Felony) and Willful Injury (Class C Felony).
