The Lee County Board of Supervisors is revising proposed ordinances for commercial wind and solar projects and plans to host another town hall to gather input. Following a well-attended town hall last Thursday, where residents shared concerns about transparency, environmental impacts, and property rights, the board is working with the Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission to update the draft ordinances.

The ordinances aim to establish standards for the development, operation, and decommissioning of wind and solar projects in Lee County, which currently lack regulations. A tentative town hall is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 27, at the Pilot Grove Community Center in Donnellson. Updates will follow as the board finalizes revisions with SEIRPC and prepares for future votes.
