FIRST FRIDAY program is 10 a.m. at Burlington Public Library, 210 Court St. Elizabeth Packard’s husband committed her to the Illinois State Hospital in 1860, and she was kept under lock and key for three years, all while protesting her sanity.

After her release, she campaigned to change that unjust law.
