Louisa County supervisors are reconsidering their vote to end driver licensing services after public backlash. During the April 1 meeting, Board Chair Shawn Maine said most feedback he received opposed the closure. The service, set to end May 30, was initially cut due to staffing and budget concerns.
Treasurer Vicki Frank reported the county only kept $12,523 of the $38,995 in licensing revenue last fiscal year. Supervisors discussed possible limited service days and reaching out to the DOT for adjustments. No final decision was made, but board members indicated they remain open to alternatives.
