A Keokuk man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred last July, though he is not currently facing homicide charges.
Matthew Thomas Miller, 27, was taken into custody this week by Keokuk Police and charged with possession of a short-barrelled shotgun and two counts of possessing firearm suppressors. The charges stem from the investigation into the July 28, 2024, death of Colby Deck, 27, who was shot in the chest during an altercation at 510 Morgan Street.
Police say they identified the shooter at the time but have not released that person’s name due to the ongoing investigation.
