A 22-year-old Burlington woman was arrested Friday morning after police say she struck another woman in the head with a metal pole during a domestic disturbance.

Justice Nuss was charged with willful injury causing bodily injury, a class D felony. Officers responded to the 600 block of Dunham Street shortly after 6 a.m., where they found the victim bleeding from a large head wound. Witnesses told police Nuss had been breaking windows before chasing and hitting the woman with the pole.

Officers recovered the pole in the backyard and found traces of blood leading inside the home. Nuss was reportedly uncooperative during the investigation and was booked into the Des Moines County Jail on a $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for May 16.
