Fort Madison’s Downtown Summer Market is returning on Thursday, June 5, for its seventh season. Running from 3 to 8 p.m. along Avenue G and Seventh Street, the event features local vendors, food trucks, and live music.
Organizer Darla Ferrell said the market is more of a street festival than a farmers market, with offerings including handmade crafts, art, specialty goods, and artisan furniture. Many downtown businesses are also participating, and live entertainment will be featured on both streets, with seating areas provided for dining and public gathering.
Two additional markets are planned for July 3 and July 31. Ferrell credited longtime vendors and volunteers for helping make the event possible and encouraged residents to support the growing tradition.
