Burlington’s Pride on the Riverfront is back this weekend with two days of events celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

Last year’s inaugural festival drew more than 3,000 attendees. This year’s schedule includes nearly 90 vendors, live music, and film screenings at The Capitol Theater.

Saturday starts with the Pride Parade at 10 a.m., followed by performances and family activities along the riverfront. The Pride After Dark drag show begins at 8 p.m. at Memorial Auditorium. Sunday features a brunch and two LGBTQ-themed film screenings.

Organizers with BTown Pride, the nonprofit behind the event, say this year’s celebration comes at a critical time following state and national policy changes affecting LGBTQ+ Iowans. They hope the weekend offers both visibility and support for the community.
