A benefit concert in Burlington this Saturday aims to raise funds and awareness for struggling mental health services in Southeast Iowa. Silent Scream: Music for Mental Health takes place on October 25th at the Cornerstone Event Center, with doors at 6 p.m. and music running until 11:30.

Local bands ShadesinBlue, Yote, and Little Evil will headline the night, joined by speakers working to promote mental health support in Southeast Iowa. The night will also include a silent auction, a costume contest with cash prizes, and food from the Louiez food truck.

All proceeds from the event will support Elevate, a nonprofit that offers mobile crisis response services and partners with Assertive Community Treatment teams to assist individuals facing serious mental health challenges. The event’s organizer, Nico Merschman, who previously worked at the now-closed Burlington crisis center, said the goal is to cushion the blow of ongoing service cuts and bring attention to the urgent need for accessible care in the region.

Speakers include representatives from Rock Solid Healing and JoyKwondo, who will share their efforts to support mental wellness locally, as well as Amie Gossage from Elevate, who will discuss how event funds will directly support community-based care.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.
