City of Fort Madison awarded grant for Riverview Park Playground

Fort Madison, IA-  The City of Fort Madison has bene awarded a $25,000 grant for the city’s Riverview Park Playground Project.

The Grant from the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation was awarded on November 20th to assist with a public kick-off campaign, and is the third grant awarded to assist with the project.

“We are grateful to the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation for this generous investment in our community,”. Said Fort Madison Mayor Matt Mohrfeld.

“This grant moves the Riverview Park project from vision to reality, helping us build a space where families can gather, kids can play, and Fort Madison can continue growing stronger together. This partnership is a powerful example of what happens when local commitment meets corporate support.”

The City of Fort Madison says the Riverview Playground will be an all-inclusive playground, with design plans including a splash pad, restroom, shelter house, and other activities for all ages and abilities.

Numerous Grant resources have been applied for, and other joint collaborations are needed to finish the project.
