Two Iowa National Guard soldiers who were hurt in an attack in Syria, returned to the U.S. Saturday. Officials with the Iowa National Guard described the soldiers’ condition as “stable” and said their families are with them as they start the next phase of recovery, according to a media release. Three Iowa National Guard soldiers were injured in an ambush in Syria on Dec. 13. Two Iowa National Guard soldiers and a civilian interpreter were killed in the attack. Officials said the soldiers are getting treated at a dedicated military facility.
