Fire services in the City of Montrose might be under threat after City Clerk Amy Barnes told the city council during a budget work session aimed at funding cuts. Barnes says the city’s contract with the fire department is unclear, doesn’t actually establish what the city’s funding contribution has to be, and is not being followed. Mayor Matt Mullins says the city will have to redraw the contract on mutually agreed-upon terms.
