The city of Macomb has purchased the historic Randolph House Hotel building, where President Abraham Lincoln stayed on multiple occasions, with plans to restore the property as a working hotel.

Originally constructed in 1857 by prominent Macomb businessman William H. Randolph, the Old Randolph House Hotel became a notable destination in the region. Historical accounts indicate that Lincoln stayed at the hotel several times during his visits to the area.

City officials say the acquisition is intended to preserve the landmark and return it to service as a hotel, honoring both its local significance and its connection to President Lincoln.
