Supervisors in Louisa County say they have concerns about the timeline and details about the future realignment of US Highway 61 around Wapello.

The Hawk Eye reports that County Engineer Adam Shutt says the Iowa Department of Transportation told them that survey work on the realignment was just wrapping up, months after supervisors expected. Shutt, in a recent phone meeting with the Iowa DOT, also emphasized a planned delay for the installation of a frontage road that would connect County Road G62 to 100th street would create significant traffic issues. They plan to raise the issue with state officials.
