The West Burlington City Council has approved the final plat for a new RV park development along Highway 34.

The project, known as the Cousin Eddie’s Subdivision, will be built on property between the Phillips 66 Truck Stop and the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.

The planned RV park will initially accommodate up to 54 recreational vehicles. Each space will include 50-amp electrical service along with water and sewer hookups.

In a letter to the city, Clifford Reif, president of Reif Oil Company, said the park will be built on land previously used for farming.

Reif said the development is partly driven by expected construction activity at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in the coming years, which could bring in workers who travel and live in RVs.

Plans for the park also include several family amenities, including basketball and pickleball courts.
