Des Moines County property owners are being reminded that the second half of their property taxes are due March 31.
County Treasurer Janelle Nalley-Londquist shared the reminder during a meeting of the Des Moines County Board of Supervisors.
Nalley-Londquist is urging residents who plan to mail their payments to be cautious, especially if they wait until the deadline.
She says recent policy changes by the United States Postal Service mean mail dropped in a collection box may not be postmarked the same day.
To avoid issues, she recommends taking payments inside a post office to ensure they receive a March 31 postmark.
