The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following a shooting investigation in a rural part of Henderson County, Illinois.
Authorities say the incident was not initially reported, but information later obtained from witnesses led deputies to open an investigation. After conducting interviews and reviewing evidence, investigators established probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant.
Dakota Lockmiller, 20, of Aledo, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be filed. They also emphasized the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
