Keep Iowa Beautiful is calling on residents across Iowa to take part in its annual Pick-Up Iowa campaign, with a goal of recruiting 2,500 volunteers statewide this spring.
The 2026 Pick-Up Iowa initiative will run from April 1 through June 30, encouraging communities to organize local clean-up events targeting roadsides, parks, neighborhoods, and waterways. The program is part of the Keep America Beautiful “Greatest American Cleanup,” the nation’s largest community improvement effort.
Executive Director Andy Frantz said the program not only helps clean up litter but also builds community pride and engagement through volunteerism.
Organizers say anyone can participate, including individuals, schools, businesses, and community groups. Registration is now open for those interested in hosting a local clean-up event during the three-month campaign.
