Preliminary survey results show early public support for a roundabout at the south end of the Cascade Bridge replacement project.

The Hawk Eye reports that Burlington Public Works Director and Assistant City Manager Nick MacGregor told the city council Monday that most respondents favored a single-lane roundabout over other options that would control the intersection of Main Street and Dankwardt Park Drive with stop signs.

The meeting also highlighted potential design features, including guardrail styles and ideas for incorporating pieces of the existing bridge into the entrance of Dankwardt Park.

Residents can still provide input through a survey on the city’s website, with a second public meeting on the project planned for September.
