
A trial date has been set for a Mt. Pleasant man accused of fatally shooting a woman during a barfight in Burlington last month.
Kaysean Rice pleaded not guilty on April 3, after being charged with second-degree murder, reckless use of a firearm, and intimidation with a dangerous weapon, for the killing of Janea Elizabeth Osier, also of Mt. Pleasant.
Rice’s pretrial conference has been scheduled for 3 p.m. on May 18, at the Des Moines County Courthouse. Rice’s trial is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on June 9.
